Dill Destructor

A couple of days ago, I went to check on my fairy garden tub o' herbs and discovered that, overnight, some critter had eaten every single leaf off of my dill plant.  Every one.  This picture is from today and new leafs are sprouting, so I guess it will recover, but really, every leaf?  Some pig of a caterpillar, I suppose.

I don't know about a catapiller..maybe some other type of noturnal animal? Maybe put some fencing the base?

I had a caterpillar do that to a moon flower plant that I had at my other house. Just overnight, it ate all of the leaves. I actually found the caterpillar on that plant, so I knew what it was. I put it in a jar, it turned into a pupa (sp?) and then a moth after I thought it was dead.

I don't know. Meagan was the only one home when it came out of its shell. It freaked her out. I don't think she killed it.
